Technical Base Layer is our close-fitting training layer with its own Dock Rats identity. Long sleeves and a fitted shape give it a different feel from our loose tees. It is about feeling at home in your training clothes, including when the session happens away from the water.

Elastane gives the fabric stretch, and the closer cut reduces bulk under a vest or jacket. Long sleeves cover more of the arms than a short-sleeved top. Choose it as an inner layer when you prefer clothing that follows your body rather than hanging loosely.
Fit and choosing a size
This is a close-fitting technical model. Choose using the product measurements and the fit you want; a larger size gives more room. The chart shows the garment measured flat, so compare it with a similar top rather than directly with your body circumference.

Choose by sleeve length and fit
The long sleeves are the clearest practical difference from Short Sleeve. Along with the close cut, they make a continuous inner layer. If you normally train in loose T-shirts, compare the width with a close-fitting top you know well.
The 230 g/m² figure describes fabric weight per area. It does not on its own specify a suitable temperature. Choose your layers around your activity and training conditions.
How does it differ from the short-sleeved base layer?
Along with sleeve length, the fabric composition differs: this model uses 82% polyester and 18% elastane, while the short-sleeved model uses 88% recycled polyester and 12% elastane. Both are listed at 230 g/m².
